Description

 The Samsung i8510 is the first non-Nokia S60 smartphone to feature quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900MHz) and dual-band WCDMA (900/2100MHz). This smartphone offers up a 1200mAh battery for extended usage, and comes in only 17.2mm (.6″) thick.

 The Samsung i8510 INNOV8 is an imaging powerhouse, with its 8 megapixel autofocus camera that offers image stabilization and blink, smile, and face detection, for perfect photos. The camera also features the ability to take panoramic photographs, and uses the handset's built-in GPS receiver to geotag photos with location information. The i8510 INNOV8 is capable of recording QVGA video at up to 120 frames per second and VGA-resolution video at up to 30 frames per second, with a full video editing suite on board.

 The web browser on the Samsung i8510 is one of the features taken straight from a Nokia Nseries handset. It was demonstrated to us at the launch as 'revolutionary', but most people are pretty used to the Series 60 browser that keeps a history, so when you press 'back', you can view all of your previously visited pages. It is a really nice feeling browser though, with zooming operated by the volume keys. You can surf with confidence if your operator supports HSDPA at 7.2Mbps, or WiFi.

 Music is not forgotten on this workhorse, with a built-in FM radio, 3D surround sound, and a standard 3.5mm audio port. The i8510 INNOV8 offers 8 or 16GB of built-in memory in addition to a microSD card slot for even more storage options. Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP support for stereo headsets makes wireless music possible, also.

 The quadband technology covers GSM 850, 900, 1800 and 1900 which will automatically switch between network bands without the user knowing and providing wide network coverage depending on network operator. The user can stay in contact with friends, family and business colleagues by creating either a SMS text message, email or MMS multimedia message. The MMS message allows the user to share photos and video with other MMS contacts.
